Ampy by Lawazia is coming to Dumka

Ampy is the Lawazia companion you talk to. It already reads your UrbanStall order, your bill, and your Rasoi meals. Next, a Dumka shop posts an ad from it and a Dumka home books a service.

Dumka already uses Lawazia every day. People order from stalls on UrbanStall. Families take Ambika Rasoi meals. Students learn at Excelrs. Each of those is its own app, with its own login, its own screens, and its own way of asking for help.

Ampy is the one place where you just say what you need. It is a companion you talk to, and it can act. Over the coming weeks we are bringing it to the whole town.

This post is the plain version: what Ampy is, what it already does, what comes next in Dumka, and how it will reach you.

What Ampy is

Ampy is a conversation. You open it, you type or speak the way you would to a person at the counter, and it answers once it knows. There is no menu of tools to learn and no list of buttons to find. The chat is the product.

When Ampy needs to show you something, it shows a card inside the same thread: an order, a bill, a meal plan. When it needs to change something, it asks first, and nothing happens until you confirm.

The door is ampy.si. SI stands for Super Intelligence, and the sign-in says it simply: Your SI Companion. The same app also opens at ampy.lawazia.tech.

The Ampy sign-in at ampy.si

The door to Ampy is ampy.si. The same login works across the Lawazia apps.

Ampy is not another app with another password. It uses the same Lawazia login you already have on UrbanStall. If you are signed in on UrbanStall, tap Ampy in the header and you land in the same account, on the same phone number.

What Ampy already does

Ampy started where most of the questions were: UrbanStall orders and payments in Dumka. These are live today.

  • Where is my order. Ask for the status of your recent UrbanStall orders, or of one order number. The status you get is the one UrbanStall has, not a guess.
  • A bill for my order. Ask for the invoice PDF on one of your own UrbanStall orders. The invoice number is issued once and reused after that.
  • Money deducted, no order. When the money left your account and no order appeared, Ampy checks that charge and tells you what it found.
  • Charged twice. Ask Ampy to check a double charge. You get a plain-language finding.
  • Rasoi meals. If your phone has an Ambika Rasoi meal plan, you can pause, resume, skip a day, or update your preferences from Ampy. The change waits for your confirm.

Asking Ampy where an UrbanStall order is

Order status comes straight from UrbanStall. Ampy reads it; it does not make it up.

Ampy is also honest about what it does not do. It does not create an order that never went through, and it does not send money back on its own. It finds out what happened and says so clearly. A person still makes the money decisions.

Ampy reads first and speaks once it knows. When it needs to change something, it asks you, and it waits.

Why Dumka first

UrbanStall opened in Dumka in January 2019. Since then the town has seen food stalls, grocery shops, fruit sellers, and kitchens come online. Sahibganj and Basukinath followed. Dumka is where our people live, where the stalls know us, and where we can see a problem on the ground the same day it appears.

Every app on its own solves one thing. Dumka on one login, with one companion in front, is something no one else in town has. That is the bet. Ampy is how an order, a meal, a class, a shop, and a service stop being five different apps and become one habit.

Building it in one town first also keeps us honest. We can hear whether Ampy helped, from the people it helped, without a survey.

What comes next in Dumka

Two jobs come first. They are the ones people in Dumka asked for.

A shop posts an ad from Ampy

A Dumka shop opens Ampy and says it wants to put out an offer. It sends a photo, the offer, and a phone number. A person on our side looks at it and approves it, and it goes live on the UrbanStall earn feed, where people in Dumka watch local ads. No agency, no form to fill on a laptop, and no ad account to set up.

A home books a service

A Dumka home opens Ampy and asks for a service: someone to repair, to clean, to fix, to set up. Ampy takes the request, and a real provider in Dumka picks it up. You follow it in the same chat.

Managing a Rasoi meal plan inside the Ampy chat

Changes in Ampy happen in the thread and wait for your confirm. The ad and the booking will work the same way.

These two jobs are the launch. Other things are being built inside Ampy too, but they wait until people in Dumka are using these two every week. We would rather do two things that people come back for than ten things they try once.

How Ampy will reach you

We are not starting with a big ad. We are starting with people.

First, our own team uses Ampy for their own orders, meals, and questions. Then our partners in the town use it. Then a few Dumka shops post their first ads through it. Then we take it to the whole town, with a launch event in Dumka and a short film in Hindi that shows the two jobs from start to finish.

If you already order on UrbanStall, you do not have to wait. Sign in on UrbanStall, tap Ampy in the header, and ask it about your last order. If you take Ambika Rasoi meals, ask it to skip tomorrow. That is the fastest way to see what it is.

Why the name says Lawazia

Ampy is built by Lawazia, the same team behind UrbanStall, Ambika Rasoi, and Excelrs. From now on you will see the products together under one name. The apps keep their own doors, and Lawazia is the company standing behind all of them, in Dumka first.

That is why this blog exists. Each product keeps its own blog for its own users. This one is where Lawazia writes about the whole: what we are building, why, and what we learn when a town starts using it.

What we ask of you

Try Ampy and tell us where it fell short. If it misunderstood you, if it gave you an answer you could not use, or if there is a job you wish it could do, say it inside the chat. We read those notes.

If you run a shop in Dumka and want to be among the first to post an ad from Ampy, or if you provide a service and want Dumka homes to find you, get in touch through lawazia.tech/contact.

Ampy is coming to Dumka. Come and talk to it.
