Lawazia opens its office in Dumka

In December 2025 Lawazia opened an office in Dumka, so the work happens here and people can still go home to their families.

Lawazia has opened an office in Dumka.

The company was already working from this town. Students were learning here. Shops in the town were already on a phone. What was missing was a proper room that belongs to the company, with a door, desks, and people sitting together on a working day. This December, that room is open.

This note is about that office, and about the kind of day it is meant to make possible.

Why an office, in this town

A lot of technology work in India happens in a few big cities. A young person who wants that work is told to leave. Take a room in a crowded city. Spend half the morning on the road. Send money home. Come back twice a year.

The other offer, which arrived in the last few years, is to stay at home and work from a laptop. That saves the journey. It also leaves people alone. A day can pass with no one to ask, no one to eat with, and no line between the desk and the bed.

Lawazia did not want either of those as the normal day for its people.

The office in Dumka is the middle of the two. You come in. You work with other people. You can ask a question out loud. Then you go home. Home can be in this town. The evening is still yours.

That is the balance we mean. Not a slogan about long holidays. A normal day: real work, then a real evening, in the place you already live.

Come to the office, do the work, and go home. The evening stays in Dumka.

What the day looks like

People arrive in the morning. The work is software, training, and the products the company runs. Some of it is for people in Dumka. Some of it is for clients far away. The distance of the client does not decide where the chair is. The chair is here.

When someone is stuck, they turn to the next desk. That sounds small. It is the thing a person working alone in a rented room does not have. A mistake gets seen the same day. A new person learns by watching, not only by reading messages on a phone.

Lunch is part of the day, not an accident. The kitchen side of the company, Ambika Rasoi, is there so people eat a proper meal instead of whatever is quickest between two meetings. Eating together is also how a team stays a team. You hear what is actually going on.

Then the day ends. People go to their own homes. Parents, a spouse, a younger brother who has homework. The office is not a place you disappear into for a year. It is a place you leave at a decent hour.

Who the office is for

It is for the people who already build Lawazia's products, and for the people who will join them.

A student who trains with Excelrs can sit in the same office and see what a working day is, not only what a class is. Excelrs is the training. The office is where the training meets the job. We are not writing a second note about courses here. The point is simpler. If the learning and the work are in the same town, a student does not have to choose between a skill and a home.

It is also for families. A parent wants to know where their son or daughter goes in the morning. An office with an address in Dumka is a better answer than a city they have never seen, or a laptop on a bed with no fixed hours.

And it is for the town, in a quiet way. Salaries spent here stay here. A tea stall near the office sees the same faces. A young person who might have left can point at a building and say the work is in there.

What we are not promising

We are not saying Dumka is easy. Power cuts, slow days, and a missing part still happen. An office does not remove them.

We are not saying every person will love the hours. Some weeks are heavy. A release slips. Someone stays late. The aim is that this is the exception, not the way the company is proud of itself. Tired people do not do better work. We would rather a finished day than a story about who slept in the office.

We are not saying no one may ever work from home. A sick day, a family need, a task that is quieter alone: those happen. The normal, though, is the room. Home is for living. The office is for the work you do with other people.

We are also not opening a branch of some other city's company. Lawazia is from here. The office is not a satellite. It is the place.

A group leaving a modest office building in the late afternoon The balance is ordinary. Work with people, then go home while it is still light.

Why December, and why now

The company has been in Dumka for years. The shops, the college training, the first lessons in new tools. An office is what you open when the work is no longer a trial. You need a door that stays open on a Monday whether or not a special programme is running.

December 2025 is that point. The team is here. The products are running. The next people we hire should be able to join a place, not a chat group.

If you walk past and the board says Lawazia, that is the office. Come in and ask what happens inside. We would rather show you the room than describe it.

If you want to work here

Write to us, or ask someone who already sits in the office to make an introduction. Tell us what you can do, and show us something you have made. A degree from Dumka is not a disadvantage here. It is the ordinary case.

If you are a parent, you are welcome to see the place. The question to ask is not whether the chairs look new. It is whether your child would come home in the evening.

Lawazia's work can travel. The people do not have to. That is what the Dumka office is for.
